  • An account is inactive.
  • The account has not purchased any in-game currency in its lifetime.
  • The account has not received any in-game currency in its lifetime.
  • The account has played less than 20 hours.
  • The account does not have limited edition rare game rights.

Why are Riot accounts being deleted?

The move to delete League of Legends accounts is part of their official move to 2-factor authentication. This will ensure that all accounts are more secure and also to release many account names from the system. However, this will also help keep their information safe from those looking to steal accounts or misuse the data. The riot deleting League of Legends accounts appears to be deleting accounts that won’t be able to upgrade to a more secure system. Inactive players will not set up 2FA.

This will probably mean that the game’s account numbers will drop slightly. No more forgotten or smurfy accounts taking up space. However, it will still be a good measure of how many people are actually playing the game. We will also have an active player count to see how many League fans are out there as well.
