Why is Bedrock not like Java?

Minecraft on PC has traditionally been available for download in two separate editions known as the Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition. However, that will change on June 7, when the two versions will be sold together on PC.

You may be wondering what it means to you. Basically, it’s just a small change. A single purchase will now get you both editions of the game in one package. This also means that you will now only find a vanilla version of Minecraft on Windows. If you already own the Bedrock or Java edition, don’t worry. Mojang notes that all players who own Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will get the edition they don’t currently own for free, right in the Minecraft Launcher. However, it may take up to three days to show up.

Hardcore and Spectator Mode

Hardcore Mode makes it impossible for you to respawn when you die and Spectator Mode lets you fly around to see the world, the that both modes are only available in the Java Edition of Minecraft.

Support for custom multiplayer servers

The second pillar of Java Edition’s enduring appeal is its support for player-created multiplayer servers. Anyone can download and set up a Minecraft server, complete with mod support, the ability to downgrade to older versions of the game, custom whitelisting, and more. Players can also rent third-party servers to play with their friends in a private setting.

Thanks to the modding tools, Java Edition players can enhance the default look of Minecraft through high resolution textures, advanced lighting effects, more detailed 3D meshes and other graphical improvements. However, this comes at a performance cost, making Java Edition a more demanding game overall.

Verdict: Java VS Bedrock Edition Minecraft

Both editions of Minecraft, Java Edition VS Bedrock Edition, have their pros and cons. If you like tweaking and checking out multiplayer servers, Java Edition is your choice. If you want to have the game but don’t have a good device, Bedrock Edition is your choice. Objectively speaking, Minecraft Java Edition is better but has more recent updates, the line of difference blurs. Ultimately which edition you choose depends on what you want from the edition and what you want to do in the game. Plus, starting June 7, 2022, you’ll get both editions of the game if you buy one. So it’s a question of whether or not you want Minecraft rather than which edition you want.
