All cave maps, items found, enemies to fight
Each cave has an intricate design and some even lead to other caves. The caves also house many important items that are crucial to surviving this hellish land along with items that flesh out the underlying story/lore of the game. The caves also have some nasty enemies that you can fight or sneak past. All this information is presented below in each section of the cave.
Cave 1 has 3 entrances: one near the southeast edge of the sinkhole and two surrounding a small cannibal village south of the sinkhole. Inside Cave 1 is a wall that can be blown up with explosives to open a path that leads to Cave 9. Also, the northern part of Cave 1 merges into Cave 3, which is accessible via a rope that will lead to the first submerged area of Cave 3.
Bottom Line-Up Front
The Forest is a ruthless game as the difficulty soon increases as cannibals and deadlier mutants appear on the surface. To make matters worse, you’re left to your own devices to survive, and it’s simple for new players to get consumed by this endeavor and neglect exploration. However, this will likely result in their deaths.
How to use the Katana in the Forest
The Katana is a melee weapon with an extremely high attack speed. You can use it to attack so fast that your opponents don’t have a chance to recover or counterattack. Even if the item description shows a block value of 0, you can still block with the Katana. The blocking ability is still one of the worst in the game.
Even the Katana is not the best weapon in terms of damage. The high attack speed can only partially compensate for this, as seven stamina points are consumed per attack. By comparison, the modern ax, for example, does about three times as much damage but consumes only 7.8 stamina.
The sunken cave
Due to the submerged location of cave 5, the Rebreather is required to explore it. There are two ways to enter the game, one under Geese Lake and the other near the Sacred Tree, which players can discover (located in the southern part of the island). The Rebreather, Flashlight, and Toy Left Leg are all in the first half of Cave 5. You’ll need the Rebreather to enter the second region (from the first half of Cave 5).
Cave 6 is so large that it requires the use of both explosives and a rebreather. It splits in half and merges at Cave 10 to form Cave 5. If you’re not careful, you might come across a cannibal or two, an infant, or perhaps a mutant in Cave 6. So, take your time and be extremely cautious. The cave contains a plethora of loot, one of which is the key card.
