There’s no ignoring the fact that Minecraft is a global sensation – a game played by millions – yet it’s also filled with a never-ending list of features and quirks that even the most seasoned gamers don’t know about. To celebrate the latest and greatest new content update for Minecraft, I went in search of the weirdest, weirdest, and most wonderful tips and tricks I knew nothing about.
There are tricks that literally everyone knows – such as cobblestone generators, that pigs turn into zombie piglets when struck by lightning, or that cats scare creepers. We’re talking about darker things. Some of it you may know, but unless you’re a true Minecraft fanatic, you won’t know everything. And the new Nether Update includes some interesting little tidbits; you can now generate blue fire by lighting fire on Soul Sand. Pretty neat, right?
Explore the area
If you are playing in survival mode, you need to start exploring your surroundings once you are done surviving the first night. You can use wood or stone to build a path if you tend to get lost easily.
As a Minecraft player, you should act quickly to stay prepared for the first night. You should collect woods to survive the night against monsters. Experienced players should also focus on building a house.
Use the coordinates function.
In the game settings, activate the coordinates. Every time you play, sit down with a notepad or take screenshots of important places so that you have their coordinates and can return if necessary. These important locations could be your main base, a village, a stronghold, or any other structure you intend to return to.
This is a trick that everyone should know. Clocks and Compasses aren’t used very often, but they take up space in your inventory and require resources. Instead of crafting them, you just go to your crafting recipes and the clock and compass over there can work even without crafting them.
You can go through walls with a boat
Is this a fun little trick that the creators left to the players? A serious technical problem that they haven’t solved yet? Or an actual part of Minecraft’s laws of physics?
