Fix Connection Reset Error Minecraft 1.18
“Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset” To solve the error with the lost connection in Minecraft 1.18, we must follow the following steps:
1- We should go to the Windows Start bar and in the magnifying glass icon type “cmd“. Click on the icon shown in the image called “Command Prompt” to access it.
2- Once inside “Command Prompt” we must type the following “ipconfig /flushdns” and then press the enter key.
3- Type again the following “netsh winsock reset” and press enter again. Close the “Command Prompt” program after pressing enter.
4- Now we will have to go to Control Panel, you can enter to it looking for the word “Control Panel” in the Windows search bar. Inside Control Panel you must look for and double click on the icon called Java. Inside “Java Panel Control” click on the “Update” tab and then on the “Update Now” button.
You must follow the installation steps in the window that will open, updating Java to the latest version available for windows.
After the loading bar finishes and the installation is completed, simply close Java.
5- Now we will return to Control Panel, where you will have to look for and enter the program called “Network and Sharing Center”. Once inside, you must click on “Ethernet” and then on “Properties”.
6- Inside properties we must look for the section called “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)“, you must click on it so that it is selected and then click on the properties button. We must mark the option “Use the following DNS server adresses:” and enter the following numbers as shown in the image 126.96.36.199 y 188.8.131.52 The option “Validate settings upon exit” must be checked and then click on the OK button.
Ready, close all programs and start enjoying Minecraft again.
