How to Find Iron in Minecraft 1.18 Caves and Cliffs part 2?
While before the release of the new update the Y12 level was the best place to mine ores, this is now no longer the case, with layer 256 being the best layer to find iron.
Now with Minecraft version 1.18 the minerals assume a kind of triangular distribution pattern with their generation rates increasing or decreasing.
With this new update we will be able to find iron in the mountains and in the caves, the former being the best option.
Iron now starts to be generated in the mountains from layer 80 to layer 256. The higher up we are, the more iron will be generated so in layer 250 to 256 we will open more iron.
Iron is concentrated in a higher proportion in the mountains, specifically in the “Stony Peaks“. In the caves you will find much less iron than in the mountains.
In the caves you will find iron from layer 64 to layer -64, but you have to know that you will find much more iron in layer 16.
So in conclusion the best method to find iron in minecraft caves and cliffs part 2 is to go to the mountains, to the “Stony Peaks” at layer 256. This type of mountains are in the middle of temperate biomes such as desert, plateau or jungle.
If you are in a normal biome you should mine between layers 55 and -10, but do not try to mine between layers 79 and 55, it is a dead zone where no iron is generated.
