With the new Cliffs and Caves Part 2, the developers have optimized the engine for both editions to allow “World Seeds” to work within each other. Convert Bedrock seed value to Java

To start the conversion, you must find the seed value for a world created in Bedr ¿ock.

  1. Open the Bedrock version of Minecraft.
  2. On the main screen, click Play.
  3. In the list of worlds, click the Edit button next to the world you want to get the initial value for.
  4. Scroll down to the seed field and write down the numerical value. Take note if the seed value has a negative (minus) sign before it).
  5. If the seed value is positive (there is no minus sign), it can be used AS-IS. It doesn’t need to be modified and will be read by the Java version. The Bedrock seed value will be between 0 and 2147483648
  6. If the seed value is negative, you must add 4294967296 to convert it to a Java seed value (don’t remove the minus sign when you add it to the Java version seed value)
