When it comes to YouTube Shorts, a few factors can affect your earnings. They are:

How much does YouTube pay you for 1 million views?

After analyzing 16 different YouTubers, we found that, on average, they earned $5,752 per million views. The average RPM (revenue per thousand views) was $5.75. But there’s more.

For example, YouTubers with English-speaking audiences earned significantly more on average than others. They averaged around $6500 while other language channels earned an average of $816. This is due to how ad revenue works, which we will explain below.

What other ways do YouTubers make money?

Ad placements aren’t the only way YouTubers make money and earn additional income. A YouTuber’s salary comes from a variety of other sources. Here are some other options for supplementing a YouTuber’s income:

  • Affiliate link: Have you ever watched a video of a YouTuber reviewing a product? How about one where a YouTuber pitches the name of their “favorite brand”? If so, have you experienced affiliate links. Affiliate links involve a YouTuber reviewing or mentioning a product, like makeup, or a service, like marketing software. When a viewer clicks on the link located in the video description and makes a purchase, the YouTuber will earn a percentage of that purchase.
  • Merchandise: Whether you follow a famous gamer or a daily vlogger, you’ve probably noticed that they’ve set up shops and created clothing for their loyal fans to purchase. YouTubers who have large followings often build a brand from their channel and sell things like t-shirts, bags, hats, and accessories.
  • Sponsorship: With over 2 billion monthly users and 15 billion daily views, YouTube is today the most used video viewing platform. And, if you’re a big YouTuber with a strong following, companies will want to partner with you. Famous YouTubers also make money through brand endorsements. You might be surprised how many brands are happy to pay YouTubers to review or promote their products and boost their sales.

Between $120 and $800 per 100,000 views

As your channel grows, your ad revenue won’t necessarily increase linearly with it. Some people won’t be as engaged: Others will only watch short clips of your videos or stop watching altogether when they see an ad.

So it’s reasonable to assume that your CPM for video views will drop between $1.2 and $8, or between $120 and $800 per 100,000 views.

YouTube is one of the most visited platforms on the web where those willing to make money can do it honestly right there on the platform, and make a lot of it once they hit 1 million YouTube views. One way to make money on the platform is through sponsorships, which are partnerships or collaborations between a brand and the Youtuber. You get paid to promote a brand to your target audience, while the agency or brand gets more exposure. The bigger your fan base, the more money you will make with the help of sponsors.
