After viewing the treasure map, look for your location and the location of the buried treasure indicated by a red cross on the map. Reach the red mark and start digging around or on the red cross. Press F3 for the key to open the information panel.

Since the 1.13 update, Minecraft’s aquatic life is much more diverse than ever. That said, many shipwrecks have been added to the game to provide players with materials.
How to find buried treasure in Minecraft
To find buried treasure in Minecraft you have to follow some steps that will lead you to find buried treasure. These are –
Buried treasure covered with gravel or sand blocks is normally spawned on the surface of the ocean floor. That’s why there is a chance to get this treasure from the ocean. Try to find the closest oceans even though it will take longer to dig as the ocean is very big.
Shipwrecks
Wrecks are small structures that look like wrecked sailing ships. These are randomly generated deep in all oceanic biomes. However, there is a small chance that it will spawn stranded above sea level, inside ocean monuments, icebergs, underwater ruins, or ravines. A normal shipwreck can contain up to 3 loot crates: a supply crate, a treasure crate, and a map crate depending on which sections you spawn are still intact. Map chests are often spawned at the bottom of the ship’s stern.
Underwater Ruins or Ocean Ruins naturally spawn underwater and often resemble destroyed structures such as ruined huts and even one as large as an abandoned village. They are mostly composed of sandstone or stone brick and are usually watched over by drowned crowds. Inside these ruins you should get at least 1 chest containing a buried treasure map.
Understanding the map
Once you have found the map and analyzed the outline of the region, you will need to navigate to that location. There are rare instances where the player finds a treasure map that shows an area they are near or already in, in which case you’re in luck!
The area on the map will be away from the player most of the time, requiring a few days of travel.
