While this tip goes directly against the previous one, hear me out first. You’ll want to make sure you have plenty of food, but don’t stock tons of rare items like equipment you don’t need. Whether you’re a new player or a veteran, there’s an almost 100% chance you’ll die in the Nether for one reason or another. If you don’t believe me, watch some of your favorite Minecraft streamers die in the Nether from lava or various mobs.
So to avoid missing out on rare items, you’ll want to travel light. If you die and lose all your supplies like food, you won’t lose much because you can easily harvest it back in the Overworld.

What is the Nether in Minecraft?
For the uninitiated, the term “Nether” refers to one of Minecraft’s three dimensions that act as alternate but interconnected worlds. Their main focus is to provide different flavors of adventure to the player.
However, they can sometimes be critical as their loot is unique. Therefore, it is quite unlikely that you will defeat the Ender Dragon without completing such adventures.
Main things to avoid:
- Avoid reducing your team’s turn meter too much. Agreth will answer you for the amount of TM she loses and ignore the defense. This could easily shoot a member of your squad. Small Turn Meter reductions are viable if the champion is reasonably sustainable, eg Scyl of the Drakes
- Avoid champions with AoE A1 skills, eg Psylar or Bad-el-Kazar. If a champion has a non a1 ability with an AoE the AI will decide not to use them by default (and you can of course disable them in the AI tool) however you can’t stop an A1 attack.
Beating Agreth can be done in several ways and we have 3 team composition examples below! First let’s cover the minimum stats you should aim to hit.
Soul sand valley
This biome is the desert area in the Nether dimension. But it is no less dangerous than the others. Unlike the red fire in the other biomes, the fire in Soul Sand Valley burns blue flames, which can be turned into blue bonfires and torches with the right blocks. Here are the blocks you will find in this biome:
- Netherrack
- Soul Sand
- Soul Soil
- Glowstone
- Blackstone
- Bone Block
- Gravel
- Ancient Debris
- Basalt
Agreth the Nether Spider Skill
- A1 Poisoned Thread Attack all enemies. Inflicts a 5% debuff for 4 turns. Will repeat the attack 1 time for each Spiderling with no active buffs. Debuffs cannot be resisted or blocked. (Damage Multiplier: 2.5 ATK)
- A2 Brood Feast (Cooldown: 3 turns) Spawn 4 spiders, then buff all spiders for 3 turns. Will team up with all Spiderlings to attack all enemies if a Spiderling is spawned by this ability. Agreth will attack with this ability at the start of the round. Agreth can have a maximum of 4 Spiderlings in battle at any one time.
- Elder Lurker Counterattacks when the enemy decreases Agreth’s Turn Meter. The damage dealt is equal to the amount of Turn Meter lost. He will ignore 100% DEF.
- Toxic Tide Attacks all enemies at the start of each round. Instantly deals damage from all debuffs to each enemy. When attacked by a debuffed enemy, increase the duration of all debuffs on the attacker by 1 turn, then apply a 25% debuff on them for 3 turns. When attacked by an enemy that has no debuffs, apply a 5% debuff on the attacker for 4 turns. This debuff cannot be blocked or countered.
- Almighty Immunities Immune to , , , , and debuffs. Also immune to HP swapping effects, HP balancing effects, and cooldown boosting effects.
- Almighty Force Damage from skills that scale based on the enemy’s MAX HP cannot exceed 10% of the Boss’s MAX HP when attacking the Boss.
- Almighty Persistence All turn meter reduction effects are reduced by 50% when used against the boss.
- Juvenile Poison Attack all enemies. Inflicts a 5% debuff for 2 turns. Cannot be resisted or blocked. (Damage Multiplier: 2 ATK)
- Mother’s Grace heals Agreth the Nether Spider for 10% of its MAX HP whenever this Spiderling counterattacks. Places buff on Agreth for 2 turns whenever a buff on this Spiderling is removed or expires. This buff cannot be removed. If Agreth already has a buff, she increases its duration by 1 turn instead.
