Little villagers roam the village randomly looking for other children to play with. When there are two or more, they chase each other for a while, and sometimes run, mimicking a game of fetch.

How to Breed Villagers in Minecraft Java Version 1.14 and Later
) With Minecraft Java versions 1.14, 1.15, 1.16, 1.17, 1.18 and 1.19, the process of playing villagers has changed slightly. The use of doors for rearing villagers has been replaced by beds. You need three beds for each couple, one for the child. Follow the instructions below to grow your village’s population in Minecraft 1.14 and higher.
- Find or build a village. A village doesn’t mean houses – you just need walls two blocks high. A couple of buildings that are close together are already considered a village.
- Make sure the building your dwellers will spawn in has at least three beds with two or more empty blocks on top of them. There should be three times more beds than adult villagers.
- Trade at least once with your villagers. This may not be necessary but it helps when the “will” is lacking.
- For villagers to reproduce, make sure they get 12 food points. Loaves of bread provide four points and carrots, potatoes, or beets provide one food point.
- Leave two villagers alone in a building. Don’t forget to leave 3 beds with 2 free blocks above them.
- Check the building in about 20 minutes – a small villager should appear.

Baby Villagers can emerge organically when a settlement is created. However, they are not obligated to do so.

It will take 4 hours in real time for the child to be able to walk on his own. You don’t have to keep the game open during this time; however, if you pause the game, the feeding timer will not count down and the baby will take longer to “born”.
