How do I activate F1 F12 keys?

Haven’t you always wondered what those little function keys at the top of the keyboard do? You’ve probably only used them to adjust volume or screen brightness, but they actually do much more than that. F1

The quickest way to lock or unlock the Fn key on a Windows 11/10 PC is on the keyboard itself. If the function lock key is present on the keyboard, simply press the key and the Fn key to lock the Fn keys. To unlock the Fn lock, repeat the action again.

Access UEFI from Windows settings

For those who cannot access BIOS or UEFI of your laptop, you can do it from Windows settings.

  1. Start Windows Settings, click Start Menu and type Settings.
  2. Click Update & Security from the list and go to Recovery on the left side.
  3. Click on the Restart Now button. Your laptop will now reboot and take you to UEFI settings.
  4. Click on the Troubleshoot option once Windows starts in recovery mode.
  5. Choose Advanced Options in Troubleshoot.
  6. Under Advanced Options, choose UEFI Firmware Settings and click Restart.
