- US startup Allay Therapeutics’ implants are designed to relieve pain after knee surgery for up to three weeks
- Technology may reduce the need for opioid painkillers
- Evonik polymers are a key component
ESSEN, GERMANY and SAN JOSE, CALIF., USA, DECEMBER 13, 2022 – Evonik has invested in biopharmaceutical company Allay Therapeutics. The US- and Singapore-based startup has developed an implant for treating pain after knee surgery. It is inserted directly into the knee and can relieve pain for up to three weeks – the previous solutions work for up to three days. Technology can aid the healing process and allow the administration of common opioid pain relievers such as morphine or oxycodone to be reduced or eliminated. Evonik’s biodegradable polymers are the key to the success of this new type of pain therapy: they ensure that the active ingredients are delivered for a longer period.
Everything known so far about Allay Mob in Minecraft
Allay is the new mob helper that will be released with Minecraft update 1.19.
- They look like Spawn Vex: both of these mobs share similar wings. But that’s where the similarities end, Allays look like floating fairies while Spawn Vex has a more humanoid body.
- Glow: That’s right, this new mob can glow at night. So, if you’re playing in the dark, you can easily see them floating with their distinctive blue color.
- Use them for collection: Allay’s mobs are excellent collectors. All you have to do is give them an item to hold and they will collect that type of item in the area. And once a Notepad is placed, they will drop items collected near it. One of the best uses for them is sorting, you can give them the items you want to sort and consequently empty these items from your inventory. They will collect all similar types of items and then you can decide how you want to sort your inventory. Once you’re all set, simply use notepad and get the items back from them.
How to use Allays?
Allies cannot be tamed. Instead, you’ll need to get close enough to deliver an item to him. When they hold that item, they will fly around your vicinity and look for that particular item to pick up. As they grab more of that item, they’ll come back to you and drop it on the ground for you to pick up. To make an Allay stop searching for that item or to give him a different one, interact with him empty handed.
- Unfortunately, Allays can’t mine blocks, so you can’t hand them a block and expect them to come back with a stack of that resource.
- Allays can only contain one stack of objects at a time (typically 64).
- While allays can’t be tamed, you can place a lead or name tag on them to perform their normal function instead of giving them the item.
- Anyone who gives an item to an Ally cannot harm them. Others can harm them and send them into a panic. The Allay will automatically regenerate two hearts per damage when escaping danger.
- If you put down a notepad and hit it, all nearby Allays will come to that notepad and drop all the items they picked up instead of the player who gave them the item.
- Allies will follow any player who gives them an item up to 64 blocks away. They will search for items within a 32 block radius of that player.
- Allays cannot enter water but will try to retrieve items underwater.
