Stranger Things season 4 is scarier and more brutal than any other season
This is also a show that seems to have grown with audiences over the years. These one-time kids are now high school sophomores in their late 80s, and with that comes high school trouble. The same guys who were once worried about Dungeons and Dragons, I guess, still are worried about Dungeons and Dragons… but with the added pressure of girls and drinking and drugs. This show doesn’t show high school as a wonderland, it shows it for what it really is, even to a sometimes brutal degree.
Stranger Things Season 4 is arguably the most mature season the show has had, and while I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for kids, I think parents really should look seriously at the TV-14 rating before letting it their children watch the show. It’s far scarier and more brutal than any other season, and if there’s one thing the Duffer Brothers don’t do, it’s avoid difficult subjects and images.
